Basically battery come with two terminals Positive (+) and Negative (-). In order for it work, they need to go in the right position. Thanks to Microsoft for developing a new technology.
Microsoft recently introduced a new battery technology that makes the batteries installation procedure easier. InstaLoad is introduced for those users who are easily flustered to install the batteries correctly into various electronic devices such as tape recorders, TV remotes, Toys and digital cameras. It doesn’t matter which side is positive or negative. These batteries can be inserted in four possible orientations as shown in figure.
InstaLoad is a mechanical battery that has a pair of positive and negative terminals at both sides, instead of single terminals. These batteries are currently compatible with C, AA, AAA and CR123 battery standers (rechargeable or disposable).
Microsoft is also providing a royalty-free licensing program for battery contact design and Duracell has already signed up to continue with the production of these batteries.
