Google announced a handful of new capabilities coming for its Gemini generative AI assistant at the Made by using Google event on August 13. Recently, Google began rolling out Gemini Live, which gives a greater natural and human-like conversational experience with the AI chatbot. A major highlight of the update is the introduction of the Gemini Overlay, a new floating panel on Android that provides a more natural and engaging user experience. On top of this, Gemini Voice received 10 new voices, offering distinct levels based totally on star and space issues.
What’s New in Gemini Live?
No one is talking about it because everyone loves Gemini Live; meanwhile, the AI assistant has a new floating overlay panel on Android. The new Gemini Overlay will illuminate in a subtle glow animation all around it each time the Gemini Assistant is activated.
The subtle glow animation appears extremely good and doesn’t absorb the entire screen, as it is aware of what you are doing in the background. It guarantees that Gemini works alongside the app you are currently using rather than occupying the whole screen space.
For individuals who prefer to use Google Gemini in full screen, there’s a dedicated button in the top-right corner of the screen. If you press this button, Gemini will switch to full display mode. In addition to the glow animation, you will also see a new “Ask about this video” chip on top of the Gemini overlay when the assistant is precipitated on YouTube videos.
This new “Ask about this video” chip replaces the preceding “Ask about this screen” prompt. Using this brand new button, users can request summaries or ask follow-up questions about the YouTube video that they’re watching. This feature will be handy if you are watching a lecture and do not want to spend long hours studying the course material by sitting and writing down important notes.
When it become available?
The sparkling Gemini floating overlay is still being rolled out for everyone. So, if you have not seen it yet, you likely need to wait a chunk longer. Google says that the brand new changes will appear on extra Android gadgets within the coming weeks for both regular Gemini customers and Gemini Advanced subscribers.
