With a new firmware update, Apple has rolled out ‘Find My’ support to its wireless headphone products, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.
Your missing AirPod may not be doomed after all. With Find My support, users can now add their AirPods Pro and AirPods Max headphones to the Find where they are.
According to iMore, this update includes Lost Mode, Precise Location, and an option to receive warnings push messages when your earbuds are abandoned or left behind.
With the Lost Mode feature, iPhone customers who lost their AirPods will be able to leave a message and contact phone numbers.
Find Nearby’s interface is similar to AirTag, with a large “target” dot that shrinks in size as the user gets closer to the wireless headphones. However, instead of the green dot observed on AirTag, AirPods has a blue visual.
When both ( AirPods Pro and AirPods Max ) headphones are connected to a host device, the new firmware update will automatically be downloaded and installed; there is no way to download the update manually.
This firmware update comes as a part of iOS 15, but Apple delayed the release.
Keep in mind, Find my Support is not available for standard AirPods. However, it is expected the next third-generation AirPods will have the support. The third-generation AirPods are widely expected to be released before the end of the year.
