0

Google has taken a step to extend its URL Shortener platform, making it available for the third-party apps with the launch of the API.

The new API allows developers to programmatically access goo.gl URL shortener service to shorten an URL, retrieve URL history, clickthroughs as well as analytics.

With the launch or new API, the goo.gl shortener service is more useful. If you are a developer, check out the API documentation and see how it looks.

Goo.gl is similar to Bit.ly, but it knockout the competition when it comes to speed. Royal Pingdom’s reports Goo.gl is about three times faster than Bit.ly and two times faster than Is.gd.
