Apple’s iPad has been taken down by malware within a few weeks of it being in the shops. Security software firm BitDefender posted a warning about a new malware attack targeting Windows iTunes and iPad users. Mac users remain unaffected by this piece of malware.

This malware threat comes in the form of an unsolicited e-mail, have a subject line that says “iPad Software Update”. The email offer a link to keep iPad software updated “for best performance, newer features and security”. The web page looks like a legitimate iTunes download page.

Adobe issued a fix on Tuesday for a critical infirmity in its Adobe Download Manager program that could be used by an attacker to download malware onto a user’s PC.

People who have downloaded the newest version of Adobe Reader for Windows or Flash Player for Windows from Adobe’s Official site are affected with this suspicious malware. The issue is resolved for any new downloads of Adobe Reader and Flash Player, the company said.

An Apple iSlate vs Google Tablet battle might be about to start. Smarthouse, an Australian publication, reports that HTC is working in collaboration with Google on a Tablet.

Are Google and HTC about to challenge both the iPhone and the Apple tablet, rumored to be called iSlate? HTC are also the company behind Google’s Nexus One SmartPhone (said to be launching on January 5th).
